Relax.
When you are stressed, you can’t digest. You must rest to digest.
Emotional stress causes physiological problems.
Managing stress is the single most important factor for good health.
Stress can increase blood pressure, heart rate, cortisol and appetite. Stress hinders digestion because it deactivates the "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system.
Stress increases inflammation and inflammation leads to disease.
Our bodies are not designed to cope with long term stress.
Do you want to tackle stress?
You need to change your reaction to stressors (sources of stress).
Change your perspective towards them so that they are less likely to trigger a stress response. This will take a while to get used to, but train yourself to stress less because worrying is worthless.
Do you want to manage stress?
Breathe deeply, predominantly through your nose (nasal breathing). This helps us counteract the reduction of the acids caused by stress, improve digestion, increase concentration and memory.
"Your desire to control what you can't control, that’s causing you to be out of control."
